Extended Hours Program
MacLachlan's Extended Hours Program provides families with flexible, high-quality care before and after the regular school day in a safe and welcoming environment.
Before & After Care
Before Care: 7:30 a.m. until the start of the school day
Students can ease into their day with quiet activities, games, reading, creative play, social time, and outdoor play when weather permits.
After Care: End of the school day until 6:00 p.m.
After Care offers a balance of structured and unstructured activities, including:
- Outdoor play and physical activities
- Arts, crafts, and creative projects
- Board games and cooperative games
- Reading and quiet activities
- Homework support and independent reading
- Seasonal activities
- Opportunities to socialize with students across grade levels
Flexible Extended Hours Care
Families who require occasional care can access Flexible Extended Hours Care without registering for the full-year program.
Flexible Care is available for Before Care, After Care, or both, on an as-needed basis and subject to availability.
Families who know their care needs in advance are encouraged to book at least one month ahead whenever possible.

Important Dates
After Care will not be available on the following dates due to school events:
- October 7: In-Person Parent-Teacher Conferences
- January 20: In-Person Parent-Teacher Conferences
- April 22: Showcase and Grade 6 PYP Exhibition set-up
Families are asked to make alternate arrangements for student pick-up on these dates.
