  • MAC Camps: March Break Camp Counsellor

    MacLachlan College is seeking enthusiastic and responsible Camp Counsellors for our March Break Camp (March 16–20, 2026). This opportunity is open to current MacLachlan College students as well as external applicants who enjoy working with children and contributing to a fun, safe, and inclusive camp environment.

    Position Details
    • Location: MacLachlan College (Lower School / Upper School)
    • Camp Dates: March 16 – March 20, 2026
    • Schedule: Monday – Friday, full-day program 
    • Hourly Wage: $18/ hr.
    About the Camp
    Our March Break Camp provides a dynamic and engaging experience for children through creative play, physical activity, teamwork, and themed programming. Camp Counselors play a key role in ensuring campers feel supported, safe, and excited to participate throughout the week.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Supervise campers and actively lead daily activities and group sessions
    • Plan and facilitate games, arts and crafts, sports, and indoor/outdoor activities
    • Promote positive behaviour, inclusion, teamwork, and respectful interactions
    • Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming camp environment
    • Communicate effectively with camp coordinators and fellow staff
    • Report any injuries, incidents, or concerns promptly
    • Assist with special theme days and camp-wide activities
    • Help create a positive, energetic camp culture
    Qualifications
    • Must be 16 years old or turning 16 within the calendar year
    • Open to current MacLachlan College students and external applicants
    • Previous experience working with children is an asset but not required
    • Strong communication skills, enthusiasm, patience, and reliability
    • Ability to lead and supervise groups of children
    • Valid Standard First Aid & CPR C preferred 
    • Ability to actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities
    • If 18 or older current vulnerable sector police check

  • MAC Camps: Summer Camp Counsellor

    Position: Camp Counselor
    Location: MacLachlan College Lower School / Upper School
    Duration: (end of June – second last week of August) (not required to work all weeks)
    Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
    Hourly Pay: $18 (based on experience)
    Training: One week of training 

    About MacLachlan College Summer Camp:
    MacLachlan College offers an engaging and dynamic summer camp experience for children. Our camps are designed to foster creativity, teamwork, and personal growth while ensuring a fun and safe environment for every camper. As a Camp Counselor, you’ll be a key part of this enriching experience, guiding campers through a wide variety of activities and creating lasting memories.

    Job Responsibilities:
    • Supervise and Lead: Lead daily activities and group sessions for campers, ensuring all children are safe, engaged, and having fun.
    • Activity Facilitation: Assist in planning and executing camp activities such as arts and crafts, sports, games, swimming, field trips, and other recreational activities.
    • Provide Emotional and Social Support: Encourage positive behavior, conflict resolution, and teamwork among campers. Offer a nurturing environment to help campers feel supported and motivated.
    • Maintain Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers by maintaining a clean and organized camp environment. Be vigilant and proactive about camper safety, both indoors and outdoors.
    • Communication: Maintain regular communication with camp coordinators, parents, and other staff. Report any issues, injuries, or concerns promptly.
    • Team Collaboration: Work alongside other counselors and staff to ensure the smooth running of camp activities, maintaining a team-first mentality.
    • Special Events: Assist in organizing and facilitating special camp events such as theme days.
    • Camp Spirit: Help create a fun, inclusive, and positive atmosphere that encourages campers to try new activities, build new friendships, and grow in confidence.
     
    Qualifications:
    • Age Requirement: Must be 16 or turning 16 within the calendar year.
    • Experience: Previous experience working with children in a camp, childcare, or educational setting is preferred but not required.
    • Skills: Strong communication skills, patience, and a positive attitude. Ability to lead activities and maintain control of a group of children.
    • Certifications:  Standard First Aid & CPR C certification preferred but not required (training can be provided).
    • Physical Requirements: Ability to lead outdoor activities and maintain an active and energetic lifestyle.
    Compensation & Benefits:
    • Hourly wage of $18 -per hour.
    • Opportunity to gain valuable experience working with children in a fun, fast-paced environment.
    • One week of paid training at the end of June to prepare for the camp season.
