    The Position:
    Reporting to the Head of School, Early Childhood Educators are expected to be stimulating and knowledgeable facilitators of the educational process. The successful candidate will assist the classroom teacher in creating a safe and motivating environment for students 3-11 years old and be a member of our Extended Care Team.  The Early Childhood Educator is also required to be involved with and lead extra-curricular activities and a variety of other responsibilities outside the classroom. 
     
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Deliver teaching practice in accordance with the MacLachlan’s Mission, Vision and Values
    • Be a supportive, positive, and contributing member of the MacLachlan community
    • Participate in co-curricular programs, being involved in and leading academic, outdoor education, and learning trips
    • Engage and communicate effectively with parents, including report card writing
    • Develop an appropriate level of technological expertise enabling functionality in an e-school environment
    • Know and support the School’s Code of Conduct
    • Participate in Professional Development activities
     
    Qualifications:
    • ECE/RECE certification
    • Must be registered and a member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
    • Understanding and knowledge of the Childcare Early Years Act requirements
    • First aid and CPR Certification

  • Intermediate Educational Assistant (Half-time mornings)

    MacLachlan College is seeking a responsible and enthusiastic team player to support the Intermediate H.P.E. and French programs. The successful candidate will support the classroom teacher in creating a safe and stimulating environment by providing additional assistance within these programs. Candidates should have Educational Assistance experience and qualifications, or an Ontario Teacher’s Certificate and relevant teaching experience and qualifications and be comfortable engaging in a French and Physical Education classroom environment. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to be added to the MacLachlan College’s Supply coverage team.

    The Position:
    The IT Support Technician is responsible for providing technical support to Staff, Students and Parents. Working closely with the Director of IT, the IT Support technician is also responsible for maintaining the school's computer systems to ensure that they run smoothly and efficiently.
     
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, Interactive displays.
    • Provide technical support in a cross-platform environment and respond in a timely manner to service issues and requests.
    • Set up accounts for new users across various systems.
    • Repair and replace equipment as necessary.
    • Audio/Visual Setup and support for Assemblies and special events
    • iPad deployment, configuration, app provisioning, inventory
    • Create, maintain, and provide technical how-to documentation for Staff, students and parents.
    • Inventory and maintain the collection of coding & technology classroom resources.
    • Provide in-classroom support for teachers with technology and its role in teaching and learning including tools such as the Ozobots, 3D printer, etc.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of IT
     
    Qualifications:
    • Completion of a post-secondary Education in computer sciences, networking, security, or equivalent
    • One to three years of relevant experience in technical support or IT
    • Strong technical skills and knowledge of digital systems in education and familiarity with SMART Board and iPad technology
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills required to exchange information and build rapport

    The Position:
    The Manager of Alumni Relations is responsible for the cultivation of lifelong relationships between the School and its alumni, working to ensure that these enduring connections remain a core ongoing strength of the school.  Guided by the School’s mission and vision, as well as the short-term and long-term goals, the Alumni Relations Manager will play an important role to raise philanthropic income for the MacLachlan College Educational Foundation and engage alumni and the wider community in the life of the School and support its strategic priorities.
     
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Responsible for developing and implementing an alumni engagement strategy and program that specifically aims to build the School’s alumni community.
    • Establish and implements short and long-range program goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates program effectiveness; recommends and effects changes required for continued improvement.
    • Manage all alumni networking events and programs including, but not limited to receptions, socials, special events, Alumni Floor Hockey Tournament; documents, reconciles and evaluates all events and programs; and works with colleagues, across external relations and with faculty and other school administration to extend and leverage existing offerings; conducts post-mortems and documentation on all Alumni Events.  
    • Collaborate closely with Admissions, Marketing and Communications, and Information Technology, to ensure accurate and complete records, list generation and reporting, including but not limited to capturing historical, biographical, current contact, education, career information and communication preferences via both traditional and social media, online surveys, event preferences and registration, correspondence, website, etc.
    • Establish and builds relationships with our growing alumni network, maintains regular communication with Alumni via direct contact, e-mail blasts, web pages, social media, print and electronic publications. 
    • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to provide direction and input for communications with alumni and other external constituent groups, such as parents, grandparents, former volunteers, former faculty, and staff.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to increase support by alumni; routinely identifies and qualifies alumni prospects for fundraising pipeline development and volunteer engagement opportunities.
    • Design and implement donor campaigns leading to transformative gifts to support the MacLachlan College Educational Foundation bursaries.
    • Works closely with the graduating class to inform current students about future alumni programs and highlights the valuable ongoing contributions of alumni to the school.
    • Establishes and builds relationships with current faculty and staff, maintaining an awareness of all school programs and events to identify and/or create opportunities to connect current students and faculty with alumni.
    • Recruit alumni volunteers and ensures training, effective management, stewardship, coordination, and recognition.
    • Provides responsible fiscal management of the Alumni Relations budget.
     
    Qualifications:
    • Post-secondary education
    • Previous work experience in an independent or post-secondary school setting combined with external engagement, communications, fundraising and/or development
    • Confidence, sound judgement and excellent relationship management and interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written are essential
    • Excellent networking and influencing skills complementing a persuasive and inspiring work style
    • Ability to supervise and train volunteers, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
    • Ability to identify and secure alternative funding/revenue sources across the school community
    • Working knowledge of best practices, trends, and metrics best used to develop, implement, manage, and measure alumni communications and build upon a successful platform.
    • Occasional evening/weekend work expectations
    • Moderate local travel to receptions and events

    The Position:
    Reporting to the Head of School, this role will involve teaching in the Primary and Junior divisions. The successful candidate will teach the Innovation courses in the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and will support students and staff within the PYP division to facilitate the implementation of innovative, design-thinking and maker-based practices in the curriculum. Furthermore, they will coordinate makerspace materials and technology integration within the PYP. In this role, the teacher will also be responsible for the Learning Commons collections and oversee circulation of its resources.
     
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Deliver and assess the curriculum content during the academic workday and extra-curricular periods starting at approximately 8:00 am
    • Attend staff meetings, divisional meetings, and professional development activities
    • Attend Education and school functions
    • Assist with duties outside of the classroom including yard duties, supervised study times, and class coverages
    • Welcome visitors on Admissions Tours into classrooms
    • Set and maintain a high standard of behaviour for each class from the beginning of the School year
    • Maintain consistency within the classroom and role model professional standards
    • Be aware and adhere to all student and staff policies
     
    Qualifications:
    • Post-Secondary Education, including an Ontario Teacher’s Certificate
    • Primary Years Programme (PYP) Level 1 training an asset
    • Experience in an independent and/or PYP educational institution an asset
