    The Position: 
    MacLachlan College is seeking a Registered Early Childhood Educator (R.E.C.E) to support our Aftercare portion of our Extended Hours Program. The successful candidate will create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for students aged 3–12 years at the end of the school day, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday, during the school year (September – June). 
     
    The R.E.C.E will be responsible for planning and delivering age-appropriate activities that support student well-being, creativity, and positive social interactions while ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
     
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Plan and deliver the daily Aftercare program for students aged 3–12 years
    • Supervise students during indoor and outdoor play
    • Provide engaging activities such as games, crafts, and quiet activities
    • Support positive student behaviour and peer relationships
    • Maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive program environment
    • Communicate professionally with colleagues, parents, and school administration
    • Ensure compliance with Child Care and Early Years Act requirements
     
    Skills and Qualifications:
    • ECE/RECE certification
    • Must be registered and a member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators 
    • Understanding and knowledge of the Childcare Early Years Act requirements
    • First aid and CPR Certification
    • Demonstrated Integrity & Trust 
    • Possesses excellent communication skills 
    • Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and self-management

    The Position:
    The Innovation & Technology Lead provides strategic direction and instructional leadership in technology and innovation across the Lower School (Pre-K to Grade 6). This role is central to cultivating a culture where students use technology as a tool for creativity, problem-solving, and self-expression within the IB PYP framework.

    The successful candidate will balance teaching (approximately 60%) with coaching, collaboration, and program development (approximately 40%), working closely with faculty to integrate innovation and technology authentically into transdisciplinary units of inquiry.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Teach Innovation and Technology classes from Pre-K to Grade 6
    • Develop student skills in coding, digital literacy, design thinking, and problem-solving
    • Scaffold learning to build confidence, independence, and strong learning habits
    • Foster student agency and engagement through inquiry-based learning
    • Introduce developmentally appropriate computational thinking to early learners
    • Collaborate with teachers to embed technology meaningfully into PYP units of Inquiry• Lead and support the integration of digital tools across the curriculum
    • Provide coaching and guidance to faculty on best practices in educational technology
    • Research and implement a scope and sequence for innovation and technology learning
    • Act as a liaison between the Lower School and IT Department
    • Support troubleshooting of minor technical issues and coordinate advanced support as needed
    • Ensure alignment between innovation programming and the Programme of Inquiry

    Skills and Qualifications:
    • Bachelor of Education or equivalent teaching qualification
    • Additional qualifications in Educational Technology or ICT integration (asset)
    • Minimum of 5 years teaching experience
    • Experience in an IB PYP or inquiry-based setting (asset)
    • Leadership experience in an educational setting (asset)
    • Experience in an independent school environment (asset)
    • Strong technical skills and familiarity with educational technology platforms
    • Innovative and collaborative educator with a passion for technology integration
    • Demonstrate strong understanding of inquiry-based, transdisciplinary learning
    • Inspire both students and teachers to use technology creatively and purposefully
    • Possess excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
    • Adaptable, forward-thinking, and committed to continuous professional growth

    The salary range is based on our current salary band and ranges from $64,000.00 to $116,000.00. This is a full-time permanent position with a start date of August 1st, 2026.
