The much anticipated Final House Showdown and Awards Ceremony took place on June 14th . All four houses gathered on the backfield proudly wearing their house coloured t-shirts and accessories as they discussed strategies for the A-MAZE-ing Race. The giant inflatable corn maze held 37 envelopes per house and contained puzzle pieces, secret advantages and opportunities to U-Turn other teams. House members had to navigate the maze in search of their specific number and then use the puzzle pieces to solve a riddle. Despite being U-Turned twice, Sumner was the first House to reach the mat, with Thomas coming in close behind. Unfortunately, Sumner accumulated 6 minutes in time penalties allowing Thomas to become the winners of the A-MAZE-ing Race! After serving their time penalty, Sumner took second place, Colboure came in third and Chisholm was last to reach the mat.
After a delicious BBQ lunch and ice cream treat, Grade 7-12 students assembled in the gym for the Year End Awards Ceremony. Here, students were recognized for various achievements throughout the year including being published in Blossomings, participating in Duke trips, community service efforts and select students were awarded the Meritorious Intramural Recognition for their sportsmanship in Student/Staff sports teams. In addition, two students in each non-graduating year were awarded a Spirit & Pride award and a Diligence award.
