Grade 10 Science Students Dive into Climate Science at Ripley’s Aquarium
Our Grade 10 Science students took part in an immersive learning experience at Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada. The focus of the visit was to explore the impacts of climate change on aquatic organisms, bringing classroom learning into the real world.
As part of the program, students conducted a squid dissection, examining the anatomy and biological systems of this fascinating marine species. This hands-on activity allowed students to connect biological structure to function and better understand how environmental changes affect marine life.
Students also engaged in an in-depth learning session on ocean acidification and its effect on squid physiology and behavior — highlighting the broader consequences of climate change on ocean ecosystems.
To prepare future-ready individuals, we need to share and instill common values across our school community and embed these values in everything we do.
