Environmental Stewardship in Celebration of Earth Day
In celebration of Earth Day, our students enjoyed a wonderful day of outdoor learning with OakvilleGreen! Despite a rainy forecast, the weather held off, allowing us to experience every moment to the fullest.
A big thank you to our incredible Spirit Squad for their enthusiasm, leadership, and hard work — their positivity helped make the day even more memorable.
Throughout the day, students explored the impacts of climate change on our local environment and ecosystems. Through hands-on activities and thoughtful discussions, we learned about the critical role trees and biodiversity play in supporting a healthy environment. Highlights included identifying native tree species, discovering the benefits of mulching for young trees, and creating seedballs to promote butterfly habitats and pollinator-friendly spaces.
It was a fantastic day filled with energy, learning, and meaningful connections to the natural world. Small actions truly do make a big difference!
To prepare future-ready individuals, we need to share and instill common values across our school community and embed these values in everything we do.
