Grade 10 Science Students Explore Cancer Research at McMaster University
Our Grade 10 Science students recently visited McMaster University to participate in Let's Talk Cancer, an educational experience exploring cells, cell division, cancer research, potential treatments, and the impacts of cancer on individuals and society.
As part of the experience, students participated in a hands-on DNA extraction activity using bananas, connecting their classroom learning to real-world scientific concepts. This experiential learning opportunity allowed students to deepen their understanding of cellular biology while exploring the important role of scientific research in understanding and treating cancer.
To prepare future-ready individuals, we need to share and instill common values across our school community and embed these values in everything we do.
