Inspiring Our Youngest Learners Through Stories

Our JK students recently enjoyed a special visit from Victoria Bach, MacLachlan College's Hockey Development Coordinator, who spent time reading with the class and sharing stories about her journey in hockey.

Victoria is a former PWHL player, Team Canada athlete, and co-author of Skate On, Shirley!, an inspiring picture book about a young Indigenous girl pursuing her dream of playing hockey. Throughout her career, she has competed at the NCAA Division I, professional, and international levels, earning three Women's World Championship gold medals while representing Canada.

Her visit provided a wonderful opportunity for students to connect literacy with real-world role models and learn how passion and dedication can help turn dreams into reality.
