Grade 9 Students Explore Astronomy at the University of Waterloo
Grade 9 students recently visited the Gustav Bakos Observatory at the University of Waterloo for an immersive astronomy experience.
Named after the university’s first astronomer, the observatory has been in operation since 1967 and features a twelve-inch telescope located on the roof of the Physics building. During their visit, students learned about astronomical research, including the study of visual binary stars, and observed the telescope in action.
To prepare future-ready individuals, we need to share and instill common values across our school community and embed these values in everything we do.
