Our Grade 1 students recently visited the Oakville Galleries for a hands on mask making clay workshop. This experience connected meaningfully to their “Sharing the Planet” unit and Visual Arts studies, where students have been exploring emotions and facial expressions through creative expression.
During the workshop, students created their own clay masks using hand building techniques and experimented with shape, texture, and form. The session encouraged thoughtful observation, creativity, and reflection as students represented different emotions through their designs.
To prepare future-ready individuals, we need to share and instill common values across our school community and embed these values in everything we do.
