Coming Home to MAC

By Rachel O’Hagan, Alumni Relations Manager

There is something truly special about coming home. Not just to a place, but to a feeling.
Over the past few months, I have had the privilege of connecting with MacLachlan alumni from across generations and around the world. One thing has stood out in every conversation. Our alumni are passionate, creative, and driven by purpose.

This month, we are excited to offer new ways for alumni to reconnect with each other and with the school that helped shape them. Whether you attend a local reunion, stop by a summer meetup, add a song to our alumni playlist, or speak to current students, we want the experience to feel meaningful and authentic.
Celebrating the Class of 1988
We are thrilled to welcome back MacLachlan’s very first graduating class. The Class of 1988 is reuniting this month, and it is a beautiful reminder that the MAC connection only grows stronger over time. These alumni are not just coming back to walk the halls. They are coming back to share stories, relive memories, and imagine what the next chapter of connection could look like.

Alumni Ambassador Program
For those who want to stay involved, we are launching the Alumni Ambassador Program. Ambassadors are more than proud alumni. They are community builders. They help organize events, welcome fellow alumni, represent MacLachlan in their cities, and bring new ideas to the table.

If you believe in the power of connection, this program is a great way to stay involved.

Spotlight on Alumni Changemakers

Two recent moments reminded us just how impactful the MAC community can be.

This spring, alumna Nanaki returned to MacLachlan to speak with our Grade 2 students about accessibility and inclusion. Her visit sparked thoughtful conversations and gave students a deeper understanding of how they can help build a more inclusive world.

We also want to celebrate Genevieve, who just released her new documentary, Toronto’s A Drag: The Queer Culture of the City. Her film is a vibrant and moving tribute to queer identity and a powerful contribution to Pride Month.

How to Get Involved
  • Join the Alumni Ambassador Program
  • Add your favourite song to the Sounds of MAC Alumni playlist
  • Sign up for a reunion or networking night
