This past Saturday, MacLachlan College proudly sent a team of 17 student delegates to the King’s Model United Nations Conference, marking the DPS Club’s first participation in this event.
In the weeks leading up to the conference, students dedicated themselves to researching global issues and drafting thoughtful position papers for their assigned topics. For many, this was their first experience in a live MUN setting. Delegates stepped outside their comfort zones, learning procedures in real time, debating complex ideas, and representing their committees with confidence and professionalism.
We are incredibly proud of every student who embraced this new challenge.
Four of our delegates were formally recognized for their outstanding performance:
Isa, Honourable Delegate, Star Wars Tutorial Committee
Mariam, Best Delegate, UNHRC Tutorial Committee
Rania, Best Delegate, UN Women Committee
Zaahid, Best Delegate, Artificial Intelligence Crisis Committee
Congratulations to our entire team on an impressive first showing at King’s MUN!
To prepare future-ready individuals, we need to share and instill common values across our school community and embed these values in everything we do.
