From Classroom to University: Grade 12 Philosophy Explores Buddhism with Birgit Kellner
Members of our Grade 12 Philosophy class attended a captivating lecture hosted by the esteemed Department of Philosophy at the University of Toronto.
The talk was led by Birgit Kellner, an incredible Buddhologist and Tibetologist from the Institute for Cultural and Intellectual History of Asia in Vienna. Her presentation delved into the contextual and philosophical study of Buddhism, which beautifully complemented their ongoing exploration of metaphysics.
Attending this lecture was not only academically enriching, but it also provided students with a sneak peek into university life. The journey back to school on the GO Train was equally stimulating as they engaged in lively discussions about the lecture and its implications.
It's truly inspiring to see how philosophical concepts and ideas can ignite our curiosity and broaden our perspectives.
We know that to prepare future-ready individuals we must share and instill common values throughout the entire school community and permeate all of our activities with a core set of values.
