Our Grade 9 students had an incredible day at Mountsberg Conservation Area, where they participated in the Climate Change SOS program. This full-day program was a perfect fit for their Science unit on Sustainable Ecosystems and Climate Change.
The students delved into the effects of climate change, acquired knowledge about nearby ecosystems, and participated in endeavours to foster sustainability. They helped the Mountsberg staff in inspecting the sugar maples in their operational sugar bush to assess whether the trees would continue to survive in Southern Ontario.
To prepare future-ready individuals, we need to share and instill common values across our school community and embed these values in everything we do.
