Nick's Story

The teachers at MacLachlan heavily influenced my work ethic and sense of responsibility. I left high school ready to do hard work whenever it came my way. I also came away with a realistic sense of my abilities.

I went to the University of Toronto and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Cinema Studies, English and Philosophy. After five years out in the real world, I returned to UofT to do a Masters of Teaching degree. Surprisingly, I did not expect to be a teacher when I left high school, let alone a teacher at my former school!

The extracurriculars at MAC were a real highlight for me. Student-staff sports, high school trips abroad, Duke of Edinburgh canoe trips, theatre productions and band performance just to name a few. These all provided opportunities for my friends and me to have enriching experiences outside the classroom, while also getting to know our teachers in less formal settings.

MAC is a great community with teachers that care deeply about their students.
